How to Add a Post to a WordPress site? You have to add posts, pages, and content to your WordPress site to drive more traffic. Adding posts is quite easy in WordPress and you can do that using the modern block editor or the classic editor. The editor has a lot of features and to add a feature within your post, you have to use the block in the Gutenberg or block editor. It has a powerful editing interface and does not disturb or hamper your site. You can add blocks and if required, you can remove any block.
How to Add Post Title?
You can add a post title in WordPress easily using the block editor. To add a post title click on ‘Posts’ and it will expand the submenus under it which are:
- All posts
- Add New
- Categories and
- Tags
To continue click on ‘Add New. When you click on it, it will take you to the editor and will provide you an area to add a post title that looks like this
Now, write the heading of the post in the field labeled as’ Add title’ as provided in the field indicated by an arrow in the rectangular field. While going to add a title in the field, make the first letter of every word in the upper case when the words are nouns, verbs, etc. But do not capitalize the first letter of preposition, conjunction, and articles( a, an, the). The heading or title should be comprehensive, compact, and exact in respect of contents.
How to Add subheadings?
When you are going to write a blog post, you have to add subheadings along with the main heading(<h1>) or title. As usual, the post title is written in h1 and the remaining subheadings are written in h2, h3, h4, h5, and h6 format. So, you can add the subheadings in h2 when you write the title in h1 format. Also, you can add other subheadings in the subsequent smaller formats if you want to add multiple subheadings under a particular subheading, nonetheless, you should use only a particular type of subheadings in the contents.
Suppose, you have written the title in h1 and want to add multiple subheadings to add various information in the content, then you should use only the h2 formats to add subheadings if they have no other subsequent subheadings under a subheading. In such kind of case, you can write the contents in the following manner:
Now, you can see in the above sketch that the content has multiple subheadings along with the post title and it is also clearly illustrated in the text sketch that all the subheadings have no subsequent sun headings. That’s why I have written each subheading in the h2 format.
Now, look at the following text to know how it contains the title and subheadings. The title is in h1 format. The first subheading in the content has only one subsequent subheading in h3 format because the parent subheading is in h2 format.
The second subheading is in h2 format and it has three subheadings and each one is subsequent to the former.
The third subheading is in h2 format and it has four subheadings, each lower one is under the higher one.
To add a heading to the content, click on the ‘Add block’ icon located in the upper left corner. Once the ‘Add block’ icon is opened, you can see various blocks on text, media, design, embed, widget, etc. To add a block in the content field, just click on the block and it will be added therein. How to find out a block? Also, you can find out a block by typing its name in the search field and clicking on the search icon. You have to learn a number of editing options, as you are going to provide a tutorial on How to add a post in WordPress.

This is an unordered list that does not use numbers. In order to add a list click on the listed block that you can find inside the block editor when it is expanded. Click on it to add it to the post. When you put your cursor in the blank space inside the post to add a list, it will show you the editing toolbar as above. Now, you can add an unordered list. If needed you can change it into an ordered list.
To turn it into an ordered list, just click on the symbol that contains two lines having numbers 1 and 2 and shows a label ‘convert to ordered list’ in the popup. Look below for a better understanding.
Once the unordered list turns into an ordered list, it looks like this. It adds numbers at the beginning of each text which is arranged in numerical order.
Similarly, you can add pullquotes, verses, and other text blocks if needed.
Add Image, Gallery, Audio, Video etc.
There are blocks for image, gallery, audio, video, and other elements in the media section of the block editor. Adding the image block, you can upload images into your content.
To upload an image, click on the image block from within your WordPress Block Editor and it may look like as follows:
Once you have clicked on the ‘image’ block, it shows you the above options to upload images onto your site. The second option which labeled as ‘Media Library’ lets you upload images to your site from your WordPress image gallery which contains all the images uploaded to your site. The third option labeled ‘Insert from URL’ is another way of displaying images from different sources.

You can add buttons by adding the button design inside your post and it looks somewhat like this:
Now, add texts to the button, and don’t forget to save your changes. Thus you can add as many buttons as you like in your post. To add another button beside the added button, just click on the plus icon and another button will be added. Look whatever you like inside the button. Also, you can place a link if you want to add it inside the button. And, in most cases, the button contains links that when clicked lead to a different destination where the links reside. On the other hand, setting post visibility password-protected makes it more secure and none can see it without entering the password for that post. You should not check password-protected lest your post will not be visible to everyone.

Set up Discussion for Comments
When visitors visit your site, its post, and pages, they may make comments. And, of course, comments allow visitors to engage with you. Comments are good when they are genuine and approved. But fake comments or spam may affect your site negatively and even it may bring your site under Google penalty. Considering the pros of it, you should check the option ‘allow comments. Also, you can check ‘allow pingbacks & trackbacks’ and I don’t recommend checking it.
To moderate comments, you can set up Akismet on your website. It moderates comments and will be helpful to prevent spam comments.
